Routine business handled in Forest County

From staff reports

Forest County commissioners on Wednesday approved a resolution that each municipality in the county may request up to $1,500 in county aid to be used to purchase salt and anti-skid.

The money would be paid out of the county’s liquid fuels account.

Commissioners also approved paying Mobilcom $20,984.80 for equipment to increase broadband at the Pigeon tower.

Commissioner Bob Snyder said the county is waiting on funds to build more towers to continue broadband expansion. He also said spots have been identified to put in more poles.

“Getting towers in place is important to increasing our network of poles,” commissioners chairman Mark Kingston said.

Snyder added that this is true of the western side of the county and Barnett Township.

The next commissioners meeting will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at the county annex building.
