Ramp to close Monday as part of Clarion River bridge project

From staff reports

PennDOT has announced a ramp closure as part of the Clarion River bridge preservation project on Interstate 80 in Paint and Monroe townships.

Beginning Monday at 6 a.m., the on-ramp from Route 66 to eastbound I-80 will be closed at the Shippenville on-ramp to alleviate congestion from vehicles merging into the active work zone.

To detour, motorists should take the I-80 ramp westbound toward Sharon to Exit 53 at Knox and then proceed to the I-80 east ramp to travel eastbound.

The detour will be in place through the project’s completion which is expected in late September.

Contractor Swank Constriction Co. LLC of New Kensington will be completing the $5 million project.
