The monthly meeting of the SPC Ross A. McGinnis VFW Post 2145 Auxiliary was held April 14 with 14 members present. One new membership was approved. Reports about activities in the last month were given. Upcoming events were discussed.
The fourth Annual Weekend of May-Hem, cosponsored by the VFW Post and Auxiliary to benefit Angelo Gehenio in his battle with leukemia will be held May 24 and 25 at Redbank Valley Municipal Park. Watch for flyers posted in businesses and on Facebook.
Memorial Day Ceremonies are scheduled for May 27 at 11 a.m. at the Clarion Cemetery.
Auxiliary officers for the upcoming year were elected and will be installed at the May meeting.

The Auxiliary Charter was draped in honor of Past National President Patricia Jankowski.
Sharon Wagner presented information about the new World War I Memorial in Washington, D.C.–“A Soldier’s Journey,” which will open this fall. It is a wall consisting of 58 separate sculptures of one American soldier along his journey from when he leaves his wife and daughter until he returns. Information about this memorial can be found at nps.com or by searching on-line for “A Soldier’s Journey.”
Many other service projects are in the planning stages by our very active group. Those wishing to join the VFW Auxiliary must be an immediate relative of a veteran who is eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. If you are eligible, interested in joining in the VFW Auxiliary mission of serving all veterans and contributing to the community, stop at the Clarion VFW, 603 Liberty Street, to make an inquiry and pick up an application.
