Knox man arraigned on rape, other charges

From staff reports

A Knox man was arraigned Wednesday on charges related to the alleged rape of an 11-year-old girl.

Jeremy Fosbaugh, 19, is facing multiple felony charges in connection with incidents that occurred in January 2017, according to a criminal complaint filed by Franklin state police through district judge Patrick Lowrey’s office.

The complaint says the girl told Venango County Human Services that the incidents occurred at the girl’s grandmother’s home in Richland Township, Venango County.

The girl said she would stay with her grandmother when her mother was working and that she and Fosbaugh had sex every night that she stayed there, the complaint said.

Fosbaugh was previously charged as a juvenile for molesting the same girl when she was five years old, according to the complaint.

Venango County Assistant District Attorney Brenda Servidio interviewed the girl in June, and she related the same information that she had told Human Services during the forensic interview, the complaint said.

Fosbaugh is facing felony charges of rape of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a child less than 13 years of age, as well as a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure.

He was lodged in the Venango County jail, and court dockets say bail was denied because this is the second time Fosbaugh has been charged with a similar crime.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in Venango County Central Court.
