Mays earned many team awards in her four years, including most valuable player two years in a row. She was named Female Athlete of the Year and etched her name in the record book, finishing third in points (1,153), sixth in rebounds (628) and 12th in games played (105). She also ranked second in assists with 60 in one season.

A graduate of Keystone High School, Mays set records in her high school years, also. She is the daughter of David and Elizabeth Mays of Knox.
