Cook Forest to again host French and Indian War Encampment

Cook Forest State Park will hold its annual French and Indian War Encampment from 8 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Ridge Camp Park Amphitheater.

There will be a one-night-only special guest appearance by Paul Stillman as “Nasty Ned the Frontiersman,” teller of tall tales and historical fact.

Stillman has been performing his first-person, historical programs for over 55 years. His style has brought history to life for schools, libraries, civic groups, museums, park programs and conventions.

Stillman has portrayed notable historical figures of the past such as Galileo, Benjamin Franklin, Theodore Roosevelt and Lord Baden Powell as well as other living history portrayals such as a samurai warrior, medieval and colonial craftsmen, Seneca Indian, as well as Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers.
