Coroner: Woman dies from smoke inhalation

Clarion County coroner Dan Shingledecker said Tuesday the death of an 85-year-old woman in Farmington Township was accidental as a result of smoke inhalation from a house fire on Sunday.

The blaze, which took the life of Patricia Hepler, started at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Clarion state police said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters from Farmington Township, Washington Township, Marienville, and Sigel were dispatched.

The scene wasn’t cleared until after 1 p.m. Sunday, police said.
