Coats for kids fund drive begins

From staff reports

Keystone Coats for Kids in conjunction with Operation Warm are accepting donations to purchase winter coats for children in need at local Clarion County School Districts as well as other programs and organizations in need.

This fall children from low income families will receive brand new coats courtesy of Keystone Coats for Kids.

For the fifth consecutive year, Keystone Coats for Kids has partnered with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing warmth, confidence and hope for children in need, through the gift of brand new coats.

Founded in 1998, Operation Warm and its partners have provided over 3 million coats across North America.

With so many families in the area unable to afford a new winter coat, this project will help these youngsters stay warm this winter.

This year, Keystone Coats for Kids will provide Operation Warm coats to children at all Clarion County Schools in need, Head Start programs, pre-kindergarten programs, SAFE and other organizations in need.

Each coat costs $20, but any donation will go a long way to help. Checks can be made out to “Keystone Coats for Kids” and may be mailed to or dropped off at Farmers National Bank, P.O. Box 665, Knox, Pa. 16232 or can also be dropped off at Knox Auto Supply Inc. in Knox or New Bethlehem.

Deadline for donations is Oct. 15.
