Redbank Valley wins at STEM competition

Riverview Intermediate Unit hosted the STEM Design Challenge for sixth- through eighth-grade students on March 26. Sixty students competed in teams of four from Allegheny-Clarion Valley, Brookville, Cranberry, Keystone, Punxsutawney, Redbank Valley, Saint Patrick, and Valley Grove. Redbank Valley students (from left) Isaac Gourley, Kieran Fricko, Caleb Root and Ava Moore won for the Best Blueprint called “Crazy Kayak” in the STEM competition. During the competition, each team had two hours to build their project from their blueprints no pieces could be brought to the competition already joined. Each team also shared a two-minute presentation to explain how their project met the requirements of the challenge.
