Programs scheduled at Clarion Free Library

The Clarion Free Library has scheduled a variety of programs for January.  A Diversity Day! will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  There will be events for all ages happening all day. There will be movies, speakers and storytimes.  Children may participate in a poster or an essay contest.  More information is available by calling Dan Parker at (814) 226-7172.

The library’s regular programs include an adult knitting class, children’s storytime, the Fun Time Play Group, Littler Learners, an after school program and the Puppy Dog Tales program.  An adult knitting class meets at 1 p.m. Mondays.  This class taught by Chris Adams is open to beginner and experienced knitters.  Adams can be reached by calling (814) 797-1613.

Children’s storytime is held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays.  Storytimes features stories, crafts and other activities.  No registration is required and storytimes are free of charge.  Themes for this month include Jan. 10 — Snowmen, Jan. 17 — Llama Llama, Jan. 24 — Monkeys and Jan. 31 — Children’s Block Party.

The Fun Time Play Group for children up to 5 years old is held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at the library. The group is presented weekly by the library and Clarion County’s Promise.

An after school program will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 12 and 19, in the children’s room of the library.  Children will hear stories, make crafts, play games and learn about the library.

Puppy Dog Tales program where children read to therapy dogs will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.  The program is held the fourth Thursday of the month.

Little Learners is offered by early intervention provider agency Amazing Kids and is held at 10 a.m. Fridays at the library.  There is no fee or registration.  The activity is open to children of any age.  More information is available online at www.amazingkidspa.com or by calling (814) 715-5738.
