Police: Man fatally shoots roommate

UNION (AP) — A domestic dispute between two roommates ended with one man fatally shooting the other, Pennsylvania state police said.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. Sunday at a home Union in Jefferson County. Authorities said it appears the two men had an argument that soon escalated, but they declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

William Joseph Sivak Jr., 65, was charged with criminal homicide in the death of Amos Leroy Smail, 60. It’s not clear how long the men had been roommates or if anyone else was in the home when the shooting occurred.

It wasn’t known Monday if Sivak has retained an attorney.
