New senior living center in Clarion welcomes residents

The Highland Oaks at Water Run has been a flurry of activity since its opening two weeks ago.

In the short time since the senior living community’s doors officially opened Aug. 5, more than 25 residents have moved into the building at 300 Water Run Road, near the heart of downtown Clarion and surrounded by trees.

“I really think the residents will enjoy the views and being able to watch the wildlife,” said Dawn Hartman, Water Run’s director of marketing and communication.

The facility offers three separate floors, or neighborhoods. Each neighborhood offers varying levels of assistance to residents.

“We want to be an asset to the community,” Hartman said.

Water Run also will feature villas, a 30-home residential neighborhood scheduled to be built in phases as the homes are reserved. The first six homes are under construction.

The first group of residents should be moving in by Christmas, according building administrator Faith O’Brien.

“We’re excited to bring more than 35 jobs to the area, and we still have more opportunities,” O’Brien said.
