Keystone School Board reorganizes

Before its work session and regular business meeting Dec. 3, the Keystone School Board conducted its state-mandated annual reorganization meeting.

The meeting began with board members Greg Barrett, Dustin Swartfager, James Beary, Ken Swartfager and Dwayne Van Tassel taking the oath of office as administered by 2019 board president John Slagle.

Each of the board members won re-election in the November general election.

Reorganizational actions included:

Slagle was re-elected as president of the Keystone School Board.

Barrett was re-elected as board vice-president.

Board members Van Tassel and Jim were appointed as district representatives to the Clarion County Career Center Joint Operating Committee. Stacey Thompson and Trisha Dixon are the alternate representatives.

Barrett was appointed as district representative to the Riverview Intermediate Unit board. Ken Swartfager is the alternate representative.

District business manager Vern Lauffer and district superintendent Shawn Algoe were appointed to the Clarion County Tax Collection Committee. Algoe is the alternate representative.

Those appointments are listed as the business manager and superintendent should personnel change.

Ken Swartfager was reappointed as legal and Pennsylvania School Board Association representative and Thompson was reappointed as alternate.

Thompson was reappointed as board representative to the Keystone School District Education Foundation board. Dixon is the alternate.

The board also set its work session and regular meeting schedule for 2020. All meetings are open to the public, begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the elementary school library.

The meeting schedule includes:

Jan. 13 work session. Jan. 20 regular business meeting.

Feb. 17 work session and regular business meeting.

March 16 work session and regular business meeting.

April 20 work session and regular business meeting.

May 11 work session and May 18 regular business meeting.

June 8 work session and June 15 regular business meeting.

July 20 work session and regular business meeting.

Aug. 10 work session and Aug. 17 regular business meeting.

Sept. 21 work session and regular business meeting.

Oct. 12 work session. Oct. 19 regular business meeting.

Nov. 16 work session and regular business meeting.

Dec. 7 reorganization meeting, work session and regular business meeting.
