Clarion University schedules community breakfasts

CLARION – Clarion University will host breakfasts Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 22 and 23, on the Clarion and Venango campuses.

As the university prepares to celebrate its sesquicentennial in 2017, those attending can look back on past accomplishments and learn what’s ahead for the next 150 years.

“Clarion University: 150 Years of Academic Excellence. What’s next?” is the topic of the Clarion breakfast at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the multi-purpose room of Suites on Main North.

President Karen Whitney and the academic leadership will discuss new programs launched recently, as well as programming that is in the pipeline as the university kicks off the next 150 years. Free parking is available adjacent to the building.

“What will Clarion University’s Venango Campus Look Like in 2046?” is the focus of the Venango breakfast at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the Robert W. Rhoades lounge.

The discussion will center around initiatives designed to support Venango’s longevity, viability and sustainability, including the development of new academic programming, a re-envisioned Charles R. Suhr Library as a one-stop location for student needs, increased partnerships across Pennsylvania and expansion of outreach to assist adult, veteran and online learners.

The breakfasts are free and open to the community.
