From staff reports
Clarion County’s 30th Youth Field Day will be held in August. Online registration will open at 5 p.m. Monday.
Organizers said registration slots usually fill quickly.
The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club farm.
Each year, 450 children ages 8 to 12 participate in more than 15 stations including archery, shotgun, trapping, dog handling, canoeing, fishing, taxidermy, game tasting, turkey calling, duck calling and more.
At the end of the day, participants gather to win prizes including youth guns, bows, youth hunts, and more.
Youth Field Day is provided at no cost to participants. It has served more than 10,000 children over the past 29 years.
