Several Clarion County highway projects in works

PennDOT and Gov. Josh Shapiro have announced several highway projects that are anticipated to start or have already started this year in Clarion County.

Shapiro’s 2023-24 budget secured $125 million to fully leverage federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) investments and improve the state’s roads and bridges.

Here is a rundown of the notable projects that have begun or are beginning this year in Clarion County:

Resurfacing along Route 322 to include milling, patching, drainage and guide rail upgrades and other miscellaneous construction in Clarion Township and Corsica Borough from the intersection of Route 1011 east to the Clarion/Jefferson County line; $2.1 million.

Anticipated completion is this summer.

Replacement of the existing bridge carrying Cherry Run Road (Route 2009) over Cherry Run in Toby Township with a box culvert; $800,000.

Anticipated completion is by this winter.

Resurfacing of Route 66 in Porter, Redbank and Limestone townships to include milling, patching and minor drainage and guiderail upgrades between Leisure Road and Olean Trail Road; $2.5 million.

Anticipated completion is this summer.

Preservation work for the Clarion River Bridge on Interstate 80 in Monroe and Paint townships.

Work includes resealing joints, replacing seals and down spouting, concrete repair and other miscellaneous construction; $5.1 million.

Anticipated completion is this fall.
