Chainsaw carvers in the forest Sept. 16-17

COOKSBURG – The last major festival of the 2016 season at the Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept.16 – 17 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, with the return of the Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous and auction.

This will be the fourth annual rendezvous hosted by the Sawmill. This year, 23 chainsaw carvers will show off their techniques and sell their works at auction. Each carver will carve approximately three carving each day.

The event will be boosted by additional art, craft and food vendors and plans are for it to be the biggest to-date at the Sawmill.

There is no charge to enter the carving or vendor areas. Auctions will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
