As Hurricane Irma was bearing down on the state of Florida, students and staff of the Clarion County Career Center joined together to collect funds to donate to the American Red Cross – Hurricane Harvey Relief effort for the people of Texas. This collection occurred during the week of Sept 4.

Containers were placed in the classrooms for the week which allowed students and staff to donate coins and cash. On Friday, Sept. 8, the Culinary Arts students held an Ice Cream Sundae event and charged those who wanted a sweet treat $5, with proceeds, after covering the cost of the supplies, going toward the hurricane relief fund.

The total collected to be donated was $1,000.
