Toronto man identified as victim in I-80 crash

A man from Toronto, Canada, died after a crash Tuesday night on Interstate 80 eastbound in Beaver Township, Clarion County, that involved two tractor-trailers.

Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker on Thursday identified Nikolai Portchko, 53, as the man who died. Shingledecker said Portchko was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.

The crash occurred at the 59-mile marker on I-80 at about 8:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The crash also resulted in an extended road closure.

Clarion state police, Clarion, Knox and St. Petersburg firefighters and Clarion Hospital EMS responded.
