Barn in Kennerdell destroyed in blaze

A barn was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning in Kennerdell.

A dispatcher with Venango County 911 said a call came in just before midnight with reports of a structure fire at 475 Donaldson Road in Clinton Township.

Grant Rea, a lieutenant with the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, said the structure, a recently renovated barn the owner was starting to turn into a wedding hall, was completely engulfed in flames.

The barn, along with four antique cars stored inside it, were a total loss, Rea said.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, according to Rea.

A cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Rea said a state police fire marshal was to conduct an investigation Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews cleared the scene by 4 a.m., Rea said.

Other agencies that responded to the scene include Polk Volunteer Fire Department, Kennerdell Volunteer Fire Department, Rockland Volunteer Fire Department, Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Fire Department, Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company, Grove City Volunteer Fire Department, Marion Township Volunteer Fire Company, Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department and Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.

Emlenton Ambulance was on standby.
