In a light-hearted moment, Clarion County 9-1-1 Dispatcher Joey Skiba presents Knox Borough Police Chief Jason Brown with a plaque honoring the chief for an October 2020 incident during which a Knox resident reported to police a pet turtle had wandered off. Sources who wish to remain anonymous report “Chief Bowen ‘quickly apprehended’ the wayward turtle and there was a joyous reunion of pet and owner.” Those responsible for the plaque said while the “award” was given in fun, “Jason cared deeply for the Knox community will be missed as he is moving on to a new career outside of Clarion County.” Bowen will leave the Knox Police Department later this month for employment in Pittsburgh.
