‘Tuesday Talks’ to focus on coyotes in Tionesta

Outdoor writer Steve Sorensen will be the featured speaker at the Forest County Historical Society’s “Tuesday Talks” program tonight in Tionesta.

Sorensen will speak on the history of the eastern coyote in the state with a program titled “Pennsylvania – Home to Coyotes for More Than 80 Years.”

Sorensen will cover the earliest known appearances of the eastern coyote in the state and document the spread of the species. He also plans to dispel rumors and myths that remain popular.

Sorensen is a two-time winner of the national “Pinnacle Award” for outdoor journalism from the Professional Outdoor Media Association.

The “Tuesday Talks” lectures are presented at 7 p.m. each Tuesday at the Historical Society at Elm Street in Tionesta.

There is no charge for Historical Society members, and others pay a $5 admission fee.
