Torrential rainstorm damages Clarion Co. 911 center

CLARION – A heavy rainstorm overwhelmed an internal drainpipe to the gutter system on the roof of the old Clarion County jail on Friday, causing water to enter into the building that now houses the county’s 911 dispatch center, according to the county.

Carol Clinger, chief clerk of Clarion County, said, “911 operation was not interrupted because of the water.”

County commissioners issued an emergency work order with Keystone Enviro Vac Services of Crown to correct any drainage problems and clean areas affected by the water.

The county anticipates the entire process to be completed by Friday.
