A study is underway to determine if the Tionesta region would benefit by the establishment of a maker space.
Development of a collaborative shared space was proposed as a way to expand upon the growth of the creative community and creative economy already underway in Tionesta.
Individuals who live in or visit the area who create, build, craft, make music, tinker and fix things are invited to give their opinion by completing a short survey online before Aug. 31.
Its goal is to provide both shared work space and equipment for people who make things and lack adequate space or access to equipment to produce or develop new products or work.
The community’s input will help the Forest County Business Alliance determine if there is interest to support such a space, what kind of equipment and supplies it will have, where it will be located and more.
The survey is part of a feasibility study led by the Forest County Business Alliance and consultants Erin Wanninger and Marcy Hall of Oil City to learn about the community’s needs and whether a makerspace would be beneficial.
Online surveys are available on the Business Alliance website, www.fcbusinessalliance.com.
Paper surveys will be available throughout the summer at community events in the region, the Forest County Visitor Center and other locations.
