Strattanville will host fall festival

Strattanville Borough did not hold its annual homecoming event this year there simply weren’t enough volunteers to put the event together.

But there will be a smaller fall community celebration.

The small town will host Strattanville Fall Fest Oct. 20 and 21 at the Strattanville Fire Hall.

The event schedule includes:

Oct. 20

– Noon to 3 p.m. Pumpkin-carving contest. Contestants bring their carved pumpkin in for judges to score. Top three winners in ages groups 5-7; 8-11; and 12-15 win prizes.

– Noon to 7 p.m. Chinese auction. Tickets will be available 25 for $10. Donated prizes are being accepted now. Contact Michelle at (814) 316-5787; LeAnn at (814) 671-6635 or Donna at (814) 319-5733.

– Noon to sold out. Chicken and biscuit dinner. Adults – $8; Kids – $5.

– 4 p.m. to ? Pie auction. Any donated baked goods would be appreciated.

Oct. 21

– 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Craft and vendor show and Chinese auction. Auction items donated by crafters and vendors.

Christmas party

The Strattanville Community Watch group will host its annual Christmas Party from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Strattanville Fire Hall.

All children will receive a gift from Santa. Six gift cards will be awarded by drawing. Cookies and punch will be provided.
