As the days get warmer, more animals are waking up and returning to the region.
This week saw the return of the ruby-throated hummingbird, indigo bunting, orioles, a water snake and more to my neck of the woods.

With the purchase of an oriole feeder and some grape jelly, my yard has had to date two male orioles and one female oriole as visitors.

After being convinced that the hummingbirds did not like the feeder that purchased last year, I purchased a new one. And now they use the older one.

A solitary sandpiper has been visiting at the neighbor’s pond in Pinegrove Township. Plus a scaly returnee woke up from hibernation.

A welcome and unwelcome visitor to the bird feeder – a cardinal and a red squirrel.
