Redbank tax question defeated

From staff reports

A referendum on Tuesday’s ballot in seven Clarion County precincts was defeated.

The yes-or-no question asked voters to approve a property tax increase to fund Redbank Valley School District. The district had asked for voter approval to deal with a budget deficit and reduction in state funding.

Voters in New Bethlehem and Hawthorn boroughs and Porter, Redbank and Monroe townships considered the ballot question.

With votes from six of the seven affected precincts, the total was 161 yes and 462 no.
