Police suspect fentanyl in rash of recent overdoses

Punxsutawney state police reported four suspected heroin overdoses in Clarion and Clearfield counties in the past 48 hours as of Friday afternoon.

Police said one overdose occurred in Clarion County and three in Clearfield County. One resulted in death, and the other three individuals were revived, police said.

The overdoses are the result of suspected fentanyl being sold as heroin or as an additive to heroin, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the source of dangerous drugs are asked to contact their local police.
