Piano concert in Foxburg to honor ARCA founder

From staff reports

Pianist David Allen Wehr will return to the Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts in Foxburg to perform an all-Chopin program at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20.

Wehr will perform music on the Lincoln Hall Steinway piano.

Wehr is a favorite of ARCA audiences as a collaborative and solo artist, having brought to Lincoln Hall chamber music programs with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony that he had developed for his Duquesne University “Music on the Bluff” series.

The all-Chopin concert on Nov. 20 will be the fifth Patricia Ann Steffee Memorial Concert honoring the memory of ARCA’s dedicated and longtime board member and ARCA founder.

Steffee was a great fan and friend of Wehr’s and hosted post-concert receptions for him and his collaborating chamber musicians at RiverStone Farm.

Concert tours have taken Wehr to more than 30 countries in Europe, North and South America, and the Far East, including performances in New York, London, Paris, Vienna, Washington, Madrid and Buenos Aires. He also has toured extensively across the U.S.

Tickets for the Foxburg concert cost $25 for adults, $20 for ARCA members and $5 for students.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.alleghenyriverstone.org or by calling (724) 659-3153.

The concert is funded and sponsored by board members Dan and Karen Mortland and Dr. John “Jack” Williams.
