Nieve

Nieve

Precious Paws’ newest adoptable dog, Nieve – pronunciation is Nee-vay – was purchased from Ohio Puppy, a notorious puppy mill, for $650 and has gone through two homes already. She is a Maltese-Bichon mix. She will be 2-years-old in September. She loves people and children but needs to be an only pet as she does not like to share the love of her humans. She is housebroken if you watch her closely. She will go towards the door but if you aren’t paying attention, she will go inside. She saw the vet earlier and is negative for Lyme disease. She was vaccinated for viral diseases, rabies, dewormed, flea free, micro-chipped and was spayed. She will need booster vaccines and that is included in her $200 adoption fee.

More information about Precious Paws is available on the group’s website at pparfranklin.com or by calling (814) 671-9827 or emailing adoptpreciouspaws@gmail.com.

Doggone divorce

12Boomer

Boomer

Boomer, a Labrador retriever, is a 7-year-old neutered male. He has a sleek black coat with white on the muzzle and light brown eyes. Boomer comes from a good home, but due to a divorce, neither of his previous owners can take care of Boomer. They tell us Boomer is sociable, active and house trained. Daily exercise, preferably a good walk and lots of backyard play, will keep him happy and healthy. This handsome Lab is looking for a new start.

Huey, Dewey and Louie

Huey, Dewey and Louie, domestic medium hair cats, are one year old. Their handsome tabby coats have brown running through them and contrasting areas of white. These youngsters were brought to the shelter because their previous owner had too many cats to love. Huey, Dewey and Louie are affectionate and their affection for each other is apparent from the pictures. Each one deserves a good home, and wouldn’t it be grand if they could be adopted out together? Either singly or together, these great companions are available at the Humane Society.

The humane society is open from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It is located at 286 S. Main St. in Seneca.

More information on the humane society is available by calling (814) 677-4040 or online at venangocountyhumanesociety.org.

Searching for a safe place

Ken

Ken

Ken was found near a local business searching for scraps. He was underweight and needed love and care. He has some damage to his ears and nose from frost bite but, now that he is safe and has food, he is on the way to becoming a healthy cat. All he needs now is a home and family to love him and let him know he is always safe. An adoption application is required.

Clarion PAWS is located at 11348 Route 322 in Shippenville, Clarion River Hill, between Scrap Happy and Clarion Electric.

The adoption center is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The center is closed Fridays and Sundays.

Check out friendly faces at Tri-County

Carter is a good boy

Carter is like an ordinary item that you find at the Good Will and when you bring it home you find out there’s hidden treasure inside. Unlike other hound mixes we have Carterhad at the shelter, Carter is calm and quiet in his kennel. This young fellow weighs in the 40 to 45 lb range. His coat is a pretty shade of chestnut but his face is cream colored with dark outlining around his ear flaps and a black tipped tail. He rides well in the car and walks well on a leash – even when he sees a squirrel, he does not lunge or pull. When you cup Carter’s head in your hands and he looks into your eyes, gently wagging his tail, the only thing to say is “Carter, I love you so much; you are such a good, good dog.” As he keeps holding your gaze because he doesn’t want you to leave, the only thing to do is to hug him gently, kiss him on the top of his head, and walk away smiling. You smile because you know you will be back again soon – Carter is such a good, good dog.
