NWS issues winter storm warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Venango, Mercer, Forest and Lawrence Counties for snow and ice from 7 p.m. tonight through 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are expected in spots with snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches.
Precipitation will move into the area tonight beginning as snow with freezing rain mixing in at times during the night. The period of most intense snow and ice is expected between midnight tonight and sunrise Tuesday. Precipitation will diminish and change to rain Tuesday.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected due to snow, sleet and ice. Strong winds are also possible.
