Marienville Winter Fest set for Jan. 27

The Marienville winter fest is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 27 at MACA Building, 149 Pine Street Marienville.

The day will start at 10 a.m. with quarter card bingo, raffles, food, vendors, scavenger hunt, and snow sculptures.

At noon, the Marienville and Tionesta Lions Clubs will tip-off for their annual chili cook-off contest of who makes the best chili.

By paying $3, you get to try all the different types of chili and then vote for your favorite.

The person making the chili with the most votes will have bragging rights until the next cook-off.

Following the chili cook-off there will be a coloring contest at 2 p.m.

Cash prizes will be given to the winners.

At 3 p.m., there will be a bake-off.

Bring a pie, cake, or one dozen of cookies to have your goods entered in the contest.

Cash prizes for the best of each category.

At 5 p.m., there will be a snowflake cutting contest.

Paper and scissors will be supplied.

Winners will receive cash as their prize.

At 6 p.m., there will be a sky lanterns lift-off sponsored by the Forest County ATV Club.

Purchase a sky lantern for $5 in memory or honor of a loved one. Names will be read during the lift-off.

The snowmobile torchlight parade, sponsored by the Marienville Trail Riders will be held at 7 p.m. Torches will be supplied.

The public is invited to participate. Bring your snowmobile to the picnic pavilion at MACA by 6:45 p.m.
