Knox kicks off holiday season with Light up Night

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive to kick-off the holiday season during Knox Light up Night event. The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in Smiles Park on Main Street. The jolly fellow in the red suit will hand out treats to local children and discuss Christmas lists.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will join children and their families for a hayride while Main Street businesses will be open for shoppers. Keystone SMILES also hosts games and offers snacks.

Light up Night is sponsored by Knox Borough Police Department, Keystone SMILES, Knox Bakery, Knox Civic Club, Knox Servicemen’s Club and the Knox Area Revitalization Committee.

Light Up Night is held in conjunction with the Knox area’s 29th annual Once Upon a Christmas event at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 16; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 17 and noon to 5 p.m., Nov. 18.

Everyone is invited to share the talents of the Knox area as shops and homes once again prepare for “Once Upon a Christmas.”

Relax and enjoy the small town comfort with activities for all ages.

You will find lunches and suppers at the non-profit organization locations. The library has activities for the children.

To make it easier to find the locations they have adopted a snowman theme, so all you need to do is follow the snowmen.
