CLARION – A 21-year-old Farrell man was found guilty last week of second-degree felony sexual assault, however, the jury found the defendant not guilty of first-degree felony rape and second-degree misdemeanor simple assault.

Logan Hunter Bernat will be sentenced at a later date. Under standard sentencing guidelines he faces a term in state prison.

The two-and-a-half day trial was prosecuted by Clarion County Assistant District Attorney Drew Welsh. James Nevant II represented Bernat.

Clarion County Judge of Common Pleas James Arner presided at the trial.

The jury deliberated about three hours before returning its verdicts.

The incident involved a female CUP student in the early morning hours of Sept. 27, 2015, in Nair Hall on the university campus in Clarion Borough.
