JCHC reopens to public

From staff reports

Jefferson County History Center is now open weekly to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday.

COVID-19 restrictions are in place and all visitors and researchers must wear masks.

The ever-popular Bowdish Model Railroad shows will again be held from noon to 3 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month.

The new exhibits were only open for two weeks in February during Bowdish Birthday Bash before JCHC was mandated to close. JCHC invites you to come see its map exhibit including 19th and early 20th century maps of Jefferson County and Brookville as well as four unique original 17th century maps on temporary loan from Arader Gallery in New York, N.Y.

Come see these exhibits before its too late, as well as the newly revised Native American exhibit and award-winning Stones N’ Bones exhibit. Admission is by donation.

The Research Library is also open and staff is on hand to assist with genealogy and other research.
