Hickory Twp. road project set to start

A nearly $1 million road resurfacing project on a portion of Route 62 in Hickory Township, Forest County, is scheduled to start soon.

The project will include milling and paving of 1.9 miles of roadway from the intersection with Little Hickory Road to the intersection with Route 666 in Hickory Township, according to PennDOT. Work will also include drainage improvements, guiderail updates, tree trimming and pavement markings.

The work is expected to begin Tuesday, April 6, weather permitting, and be completed by late June.

Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

The contractor is IA Construction of Franklin. The contract cost is $996,222.22, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
