Girl Scout sign up nights set

From staff reports

Clarion Area Girl Scouts will hold several different sign up nights for registration and informational purposes.

Following is the schedule for the upcoming sign up nights:

– From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department located at 441 Washington Street in Strattanville.

– From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Washington Township fire hall located at 19877 State Route 208 in Fryburg.

– From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the gazebo in Clarion Park located across from the courthouse in Clarion.

In Girl Scouts, girls will learn about all kinds of things by playing games and working on fun projects with your Girl Scout sisters. Girls will have a blast earning badges for trying cool stuff like spending time in the outdoors, making robots and designing your own board games.

Did you know Girl Scouts love to help? From food drives to recycling, planting trees to thanking local police and firefighters, girls like you are making their neighborhoods, schools, hometowns and beyond better places to play, work and live.

Any girls in kindergarten through grade 12 are invited to join. The Girl Scouts are also looking for adult leaders and helpers to assist with Girl Scout adventures.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the potential risk of exposure to Girl Scout employees and volunteers, they are requesting that individuals do not attend these events if you have potentially been in contact with anyone that may have COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

Events will follow CDC guidelines. Face masks will be required for all participants who attend these events. This state mandate will apply to individuals over the age of 2. Attendees will need to stay at least six feet away from others and practice everyday safety steps.

Stop in and see what Girl Scouts are all about. Those interested in joining can also join by visiting www.gswpa.org or calling (800) 248-3355.
