Four escape injury in crash

No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Route 899 near Blue Ridge Road in Barnett Township, Forest County.

Marienville state police said a Buick Century driven by Gavin Jache, 19, of Warren, was headed south on Route 899 toward Clarington at about 4:20 p.m. when Jache fell asleep at the wheel.  Police said Jache was traveling at about 55 miles an hour and was unable to stop before exiting the roadway while negotiating a left curve.

The vehicle traveled about 300 feet in a ditch before striking a culvert pipe and coming to rest, police said.

Jache and three passengers, ages 38, 19 and under one, all escaped injury.

He was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
