Forest panel approves broadband proposal

From staff reports

Forest County commissioners took care of routine matters and approved a proposal for broadband expansion at their meeting Wednesday.

The commissioners approved a proposal from Mobilcom to put up more equipment on the tower at Pigeon at a cost of $20,984.80.

The equipment would expand the broadband access at the tower, Commissioner Bob Snyder said.

Snyder said the county is looking into putting up three more poles for broadband in the county.

The commissioners also approved a proposal for architectural services from Amos E. Rudolph, of Seneca, for work at 128 Cherry St. in Marienville.

The county recently acquired the Cherry Street property to use as the new headquarters for the county transportation department.

Commissioners chairman Mark Kingston said “a few things” need to be done to the building to make it ADA compliant.
