Drug and Alcohol Commission hosts first responders event

From staff reports

The Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission is pleased to announce that in celebration of Recovery Month in September, they will be hosting Recovery Respects First Responders event in Clarion County.

This event will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Veteran’s Memorial Park across from Clarion Courthouse.

The Commission will be awarding a few champions for recovery in each county with their Flame awards.

Also, persons in recovery who have been revived by first responders will be present to award each first responder who has saved a life from an opioid overdose to be recognized with a certificate, lapel pin, and free food at the event.

First responders are encouraged to attend and bring their families for a day of thanks from those who have been saved by their efforts.

Agency directors and chiefs will be contacted to provide the Commission with the names of first responders who have made saves and how many they have made.

If you are a first responder in Clarion County, make sure your officer in charge has your number of saves.

This event is open to the public.
