Driver improvement courses scheduled

Several local senior citizen driver improvement courses will be held in the coming months.

Here is a rundown:

  • 1 to 4:30 p.m. March 9 and May 11 – Clarion Senior Center
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 10 at the Cranberry Place Senior Center in the Cranberry Mall
  • 1 to 5 p.m. April 4 at the Redbank Valley Community Center in New Bethlehem
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 17 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 24 at the Clarion Hospital.

Those who attend will receive a multi-year discount on auto insurance after taking the course.

The event is aimed toward helping drivers understand how aging affects driving abilities and provide insight about driving on today’s roadways.

The course is PennDOT approved and designed for drivers 55 and older.

There will be no testing or behind-the-wheel driving.
