Coroner identifies 2 killed in Clarion County crash

From staff reports

Clarion County coroner Dan Shingledecker has identified the two people who were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Redbank Township.

Shingledecker said Douglas Craig, 36, of New Bethlehem, and Sarah Stewart, 34, of Strattenville, died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Craig and Stewart were both in the same vehicle that was being driven by Craig, Shingledecker said.

Clarion state police said the crash occurred at about 9 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Route 28 and Shannondale Road.

The vehicles were both traveling north on Route 28 when the vehicle being driven by Craig tried to make a left turn onto Shannondale Road, police said.

Police said the other vehicle, which was trying to pass another vehicle, struck Craig’s vehicle while Craig was trying to make the turn.

Craig and Stewart were both pronounced dead at the scene.
