Clarion YMCA hosts open house April 14

CLARION – The Clarion County YMCA is opening to the public on Thursday, April 14, for an open house event. The YMCA will showcase the current facility, programs and offerings.

Drop in to the YMCA anytime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on April 14 and learn about programs, meet the staff and tour the facility.

Sample classes will be available. Join any class and find out what the YMCA has to offer.

Families are encouraged to attend together.

Activities will be provided for children throughout the day.  Free child watch services will be provided.

Everyone who attends the open house will receive a free gift and will be entered to win one of six free memberships to the YMCA, a free week of summer day camp for a child, and a free overnight stay at YMCA Camp Coffman.

The YMCA open house highlights include: facility tours 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; free snacks and refreshments; sample Tumble Time class at 11:45 p.m. for pre-school children; children’s art activities and games from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to  7 p.m.; speak with a wellness coordinator and try the equipment from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Child Watch available from 9 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 7 p.m.; sample youth sports from 9 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 7 p.m. at Joe’s Gym; sample classes:  P90-X Live at 12:30 p.m., Indo-Row 1:15 p.m., and Insanity at 2 p.m.; sample SilverSneakers classes for older adults from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and much more.

Clarion County YMCA’s current facility boasts 40 circuit training machines and 32 cardio machines, including ellipticals, cross trainers, stepper-climbers, treadmills, upright bikes and recumbent bikes.

Members have access to hand weights, medicine balls, resistance bands/cables, parallel stability bars, balance and core training devices and flexibility equipment — all located in various wellness and conditioning rooms throughout the facility.

The YMCA has a well-stocked 1,300 square-foot free weight center and a large fitness studio.

Fitness classes such as:  Core and More,  Zumba, Circuit Blast, Yoga, SilverSneakers, P90-X Live and Indoor Rowing are held in the Fitness Class Studio.

The open house event is free and open to the public.

Everyone who attends will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

Anyone who joins the YMCA on April 14 during the open house will have their joiner fees waived (up to a $45 value) and will receive a free week of group exercise classes.

The Clarion County YMCA is located at 15952 Route 322 in Clarion just past Trader Horn.

Joe’s Gym is located next to the YMCA.
