The Clarion Forest Visiting Nurse Association held its annual meeting and awards program on Tuesday, May 9. The group heard remarks from CEO Jill Over and Clarion County Commissioner Ted Tharan.

The guest speaker for the event was author Cecile Bauer. Bauer told the story that led her to write the book “Living, Loving and Learning (A Faith Journey from Bitter Grief to Peaceful Acceptance).”

The program continued with volunteer coordinator Sue Evans recognizing all the hospice volunteers in attendance. Jill Over then recognized employees, board members and special guests.

The following were honored for their years of service with the organization:

Five years of service

– Erika Boocks of Kossuth, registered nurse for hospice, clinical information department

– Brenda Mazzocchi of Shippenville, assistant to the CFO

– Sunnie Bracken of New Bethlehem, facilities manager

– Sue Evans of Emlenton, bereavement and volunteer coordinator and (as needed) hospice chaplain

– Dr. Kevin Roth of Clarion, secretary, VNA board of directors

– Judy Fiscus of Shippenville, vice-president, VNA and foundation board of directors

10 years of service

– Marie Eshbaugh of Shippenville, treasurer, VNA board of directors and president, extended care board of directors

– John Wagner of Tionesta, member, VNA and foundation board of directors

Retirement recognition

– Deb Adams of Seneca, registered nurse; most recently she served as the agency’s on-call nurse, Adams is retiring with 24 years of service.
