Clarion, Forest, Venango add to COVID-19 totals

The state Department of Health on Sunday announced Clarion County reported four new cases of COVID-19 (two confirmed and two probable), Forest County reported one new confirmed case and Venango County reported 14 new cases (seven confirmed and seven probable) over the weekend.

Clarion County, the state said, reported one new confirmed case on Sunday and three additional cases on Saturday (one confirmed and two probable). The county now has 178 total cases (134 confirmed and 44 probable).

Forest County, the state said, had one new confirmed case on Saturday, giving the county 18 total cases (15 confirmed and three probable).
Venango County, the state said, reported seven new cases on Sunday (two confirmed and five probable) and seven additional cases on Saturday (five confirmed and two probable). The county now has 168 total cases (118 confirmed and 50 probable).

Crawford County, the state said, reported seven new cases on Sunday (four confirmed and three probable) and five new cases on Saturday (one confirmed and four probable). The county now has 386 total cases (301 confirmed and 85 probable).

Mercer County, the state said, reported three new confirmed cases on Sunday and 15 new cases on Saturday (10 confirmed and five probable), giving the county 885 total cases (778 confirmed and 107 probable).

The state on Sunday reported 1,269 new statewide positive cases, 588 fewer than the number reported Saturday, raising the total number of cases to 182,212 (175,048 confirmed and 7,164 probable).

The number of new positive cases reported Sunday marks 13 consecutive days in which more than 1,000 additional cases were reported.

Fewer than 1,000 new cases have been reported in 137 of the past 168 days.

Statewide there were 26 new deaths reported Sunday and nine new deaths reported Saturday, raising the total to 8,492, the state said.

Recovery rate and testing

– The number of people in the tri-county area who have tested negative for the virus, the state said, is 9,965. Statewide, there have been 2,132,651 people who have tested negative.
