Clarion County road, bridge projects to begin Monday

A resurfacing project and bridge preservation project are both expected to begin Monday in Clarion County.

The resurfacing project is on Route 322 in Paint and Monroe townships.

Lane restrictions will be in effect on Route 322 between Strattanville and Corsica until June 21. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, and there will be a 10-foot width restriction in effect during the project.

IA Construction Corp. of Franklin is the contractor for the $2 million project that is expected to conclude at the end of June.

Meanwhile, the bridge preservation project is for the Clarion River Bridge on Interstate 80 in Paint and Monroe townships.

There will be a lane restriction through Sept. 20 on I-80 in both the eastbound and westbound directions as crews begin preservation work on the bridge between Exit 62 at Clarion and Exit 60 at Shippenville.

There will also be a 10-foot width restriction during the project.

Swank Constriction Co. of New Kensington is the contractor for the $5 million project that will conclude Sept. 20.
