Reproductive care rally in Clarion

People march along Main Street in Clarion in support of a reproductive care issue during a rally organized by Indivisible: Outcry on Sunday. The focus of march was the mifepristone case that the U.S. Supreme Court began hearing oral arguments on earlier this week. Mifepristone, a synthetic steroid with many medical applications, is also used in early term abortions, up to 10 weeks, in combination with a second medication, misoprostol. “The controversy lies in the Supreme Court setting the precedent that courts may restrict or ban usage of medications deemed safe by the FDA based strictly on their own personal beliefs,” said Kali McLaughlin, Indivisible: Outcry coordinator.
