Clarion County Career Center holds senior recognition

The Clarion County Career Center held a drive-by senior recognition program at the school on Wednesday to recognize the 79 seniors from seven school districts.

Instructors and instructional aides in front of the school greeted students and family members in their cars.

The name of each student and their program were announced as they arrived to the front of the school to receive their certificates and awards. Any award or scholarship a student earned also was announced.

Signs were posted along the school driveway honoring the top seniors in each program, scholarship and award winners, National Technical Honor Society members, students entering the military and students who scored Advanced in the NOCTI.

Clarion Fire and Hose Company No. 1 brought one of its trucks and hung a large American flag from the front.

Top seniors of each program selected by their instructors were:

-Alethea Moore: allied health, North Clarion

– Ethan Thomas: automotive, North Clarion

– Daniel Long: computer networking, Union

-Abigail Stewart: cosmetology, Allegheny-Clarion Valley

– Jaykeb Porter: construction, Keystone

-Myka Best: culinary arts, Keystone

– Riley Slaugenhaupt: diesel, Redbank Valley

– Jacey Pritt: police science, Keystone

– Douglas Lawrence: welding, Union
