Clarion Co. Career Center students place in competition

Two Clarion County Career Center took first place honors at the SkillsUSA District 10 competitions last week.

First place honors were awarded to Heather Traister and River Young in Police Science. Traister, a Redbank Valley student, received her gold medal in the Criminal Justice competition. Young, a Clarion-Limestone student, won his gold medal for First Aid/CPR. Both of these students qualified to move on to the state level SkillsUSA competitions which will be held in Hershey in April.

A second place silver medal went to Wade Botts in Computer Networking. Botts attends Keystone High School and competed in the Internet working competition.

Five students received bronze medals for placing third in their respective competitions: James Eaker of Clarion Area in the Diesel competition; Tyler Henery of Allegheny-Clarion Valley in Carpentry; and a three member Police Science team, who all attend Keystone High School for Crime Scene Investigation included Kyle Smith, Jessica MacPherson and Brianna Hilbert.
