Clarion Area Chamber lists holiday celebrations

The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry invites the community to celebrate the 2022 holiday season and participate in the following Christmas events:

Nov. 26

– “Small Business Saturday” is a great opportunity to support all of the small businesses in Clarion County.

– C&A Trees will be offering picture day in their greenhouse.

– Stop by the Clarion Area Chamber office between the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop for ALF merchandise. You can still pick up a T-shirt, sweater, glass, shot glass, coffee mug or a jig saw puzzle signed by this year’s logo winner. Before checking out, pick an ornament off of the tree to see if you get 10 percent off (on 14 ornaments), 15 percent off (on 15 ornaments), 20 percent off (on 15 ornaments) or even 25 percent off (on 15 ornaments) which customers can use on a purchase.

Nov. 28

– This is the deadline to register your home for the second Clarion County annual house decorating contest. Help decorate the town and spread holiday cheer. The chamber needs to have at least 10 homes registered in order to have the contest. Clarion County residents are encouraged to drive around during the judging period and vote for the different awards being presented. Judging will be held from Dec. 1 through Dec. 18. Winners will be announced on Dec. 23.

– Wreath making class will be held at Crafty Creations by Ruthie located at 627 Main Street in Clarion. All materials and refreshments will be provided and the cost to participate is $50. To register, call Ruthie at (814) 229-4992.

Nov. 30

– This is the deadline to register your Clarion County business for the window decorating contest. Showcase your business and spread holiday cheer in town. Judging forms will be available on Dec. 1 and the judging will be open from Dec. 1 through Dec. 18. The winner will be announced on Dec. 23. The winner will receive a free chamber membership for 2023.

Dec. 1

– “Ladies Night Out” will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Main Street Emporium. This event will feature Dan Smith’s Candies and Gifts, The Sugar Tree, Boutique and Co., the Winery at Wilcox (wine will be available for purchase), Miola Macaroons, Wicked Wax Candles, craft vendors and lots more. Stop in for wine, chocolate, snacks and lots of fun.

Dec. 2

– Wreath making class will be held at Crafty Creations by Ruthie located at 627 Main Street in Clarion. All materials and refreshments will be provided and the cost to participate is $50. To register, call Ruthie at (814) 229-4992.

Dec. 3

– Decorating Christmas cookies and ornaments will be held at C&A Trees. Come and decorate Christmas cookies with the Eat’n Park team and decorate a Christmas ornament that has been handmade by the construction students from the Clarion County Career Center. The event begins at 10 a.m. at C&A Trees but you must register for this event. Registration deadline is Nov. 28. To register, call C&A Trees at (814) 745-3232.

Dec. 8

– Open Mic Night will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Clarion River Brewing Company with Aoife Salusky.

Dec. 9

– Approximately 17 pop up businesses will be setting up in various locations in and around the downtown Clarion area.

– Paint and Sip will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clarion VFW Post 2145 with Janet Hockman. The cost will be $50 to participate.

– Open Mic Night will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mechanistic Brewing with Justin.

Dec. 10

– Approximately 13 pop up businesses will be setting up in various locations in and around the downtown Clarion area.

– Second annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Clarion. Line-up will take place at 5 p.m. at Northwest Bank with the parade stepping off at 5:30 p.m. The current participants signed up for the parade are: Clarion Area High School marching band, Piney Rail Riders, Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clarion-Limestone High School marching band, the Clarion-Limestone-Clarion 2 Head Start classroom, C93 Radio and Cub Scout Pack 51. Any group or individuals can participate. The goal is to have fun, wear your favorite sweater and walk along with the parade. Registration deadline for the parade is Dec. 2.

– Participants should stop by Mechanistic Brewing after the parade for an Ugly Sweater “Beaker Pour.” Be sure to wear your ugly sweater.

Dec. 16

– Live nativity will be presented by Trinity Point Church of God in Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Dec. 17

– Graham Cracker House Decorating contest will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Main Street Center. This event is free for the children attending. Pre-registration is requested so that enough materials for participants will available.

– Live nativity will be presented by Trinity Point Church of God in Veteran’s Memorial Park.

– Christmas caroling will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in gazebo and throughout the Clarion area.
